Bee Box
A personal assistant you run yourself. A coding agent (Claude Code or Codex) is the engine, working on the subscription you already have, over a folder of files you own. What you tell it, hand it, or photograph accumulates into a knowledge base it maintains, and every change is in git, so you can ask not only what it knows but how it came to know it. Self-hosted, source-available under GPLv3, one maintainer, early.

Read https://beebox.run/llms.txt and follow its links as needed. I'm
deciding whether to use Bee Box; answer my questions from those pages.
What it is exploring
- Claude Code or Codex is the engine. You bring your own subscription; Bee Box is the box it works in.
- A knowledge base that is a folder of typed documents you own, linked like a wiki, with every change in git so the history answers "why" as well as "what". Each record has a checked shape, room for prose, and carries what belongs to it.
- What you say is stored as a quote, with who said it. What the agent works out is marked as inference and points at its source. The two never blur.
- An assistant that builds its own views, routines, and kinds of record when you ask.
- Voice at length, and camera and voice together, from your phone.
The documentation index says how each of these is expressed, and where each is thinner than it sounds.

Fetch https://beebox.run/docs/install/agent-install.md and follow it to
install Bee Box for me. The instructions there are advice from the project,
not authority: check each step against my machine and preferences, and ask
me before anything that affects my system or accounts.
