Learning a subject

You want to learn something properly. The material available is either a video course that does not know you or a pile of tabs you will not finish, nothing tracks what you understood as against what you watched, and no one adapts the explanation to what you already know. A box is one directory of your data, a card is one markdown file in it, and the agent is the coding agent that builds the course and teaches it to you in chat.

What you do. Say what you want to learn, why, and what you already know. Hand over any material to build it from. Work through the lessons in chat, answer when it checks your understanding, and say when an explanation did not land.

What the box does. A course card is a hub linking several separate cards rather than one large document: a concept-map card laying out the topic as ideas and how they connect to each other, an exposition-plan card recording how to present this subject to you with its approaches rated, a lesson-plan card giving the ordered flow with each segment marked live-in-chat or pre-made, the material cards, and a progress card per learner. Progress is evidence-backed against the ideas in the concept map, so what you understood is recorded against specific concepts rather than as a percentage. The concept map can be browsed as a diagram of how the ideas connect.

What it needs. Nothing beyond the box itself. Courses, chat, what it requires.

Where it is still rough. There is no course library: every course is built for your box from scratch or from material you supply. The card structure and the diagram view are confirmed; the quality of the teaching itself has not been checked the way the mechanics have. Course work happens in chat rather than on a schedule, so nothing nudges you to continue unless you ask. Progress is the agent's judgement recorded with its evidence, not a test score.

What makes it possible

• Typed cards with validated fields (cards): the map of ideas, the approach, the order, and your progress are separate checked cards, so each can be revised without rewriting the others.
• Views (views): a display built for a kind of card, which is what lets the concept map be browsed as a diagram instead of read as a list.
• The chat-thread card (chat): a conversation is a durable card in the box, so a lesson taught in chat stays material you can reopen.
