Bee Box compared with Agent Zero

Agent Zero describes itself as "a full Linux system for your AI agent": a Docker container ships a complete desktop, a browser, and an office suite that a general-purpose computer-use agent drives directly, extended by a large community plugin hub. Bee Box is a personal assistant built around a box: one directory, kept under version control with a full history of changes (using git), holding cards (files with a structured header and a markdown body), where the agent operates on records, not a whole desktop.

Where they are similar. Both treat their instruction files as plain, readable, editable text rather than hidden configuration, and both let an agent delegate a bounded piece of work to a subordinate process.

Where they differ. Agent Zero lets one agent spawn a subordinate agent that can itself spawn another, with no code-level limit on how deep that chain can go; only a prompt-level instruction discourages runaway recursion.
