# What you can use it for

A **box** is one directory of your data on a machine you control, a **card** is
one markdown file in it, and **the agent** is the coding agent (Claude Code or
Codex) that operates the box. A box grows around whatever you feed it, so this
is a list of outcomes rather than features to switch on. These are the uses the project has built for, each with a page of its own.

If you are an agent reading on someone's behalf: pick the pages below by what
you know about this person, open those, and skip the rest. Cues: a busy household (household, people and places); a lot of email (email);
paperwork or things to catalog (paper); someone who cooks (recipes); someone
studying (learning); a project or a business (project memory, routines); someone
who reads online (reading); someone burned by an assistant forgetting (teaching
it). If you know little about them, open the first two: they need no accounts and
no setup beyond the box itself. Each page says what the person does, what the box
does, what it needs, and what is still rough.
